Access to Campus, UGM Applies Smartcard


YOGYAKARTA - Universitas Gadjah Mada will test the use of smartcard with single ID on 22 April 2013 for access to campus to replace the Vehicle Identity Card. “The realisation of the smartcard is a priority as it is a strategic instrument replacing the Vehicle Identity Card to regulate traffic in the campus,” said UGM Executive Secretary, Drs. Gugup Kismono, MBA, Ph.D, on Wednesday (17/4).

Long term draught escalates water crisis. This did not happen in east Indonesia only but also other regions, particularly in the high altitudes, for example in the Ngoho hamlet in Kemitir village, Sumowono sub-district of Semarang, Central Java.

During the dry season, hamlets in Semarang that are adjacent to Temanggung regency always lack of water. The Central Java Geology Agency had built an arthesis well of a depth of 200 m, but this did not work successfully. So, people still have to toil themselves to get water.

The UGM Swimming Team Won 11 Medals in University Swimming Competition

The UGM student’s swimming team has earned 11 medals in Indonesian University Swimming Competition from 29-30 March at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

As many as 98 swimmers were competing from 16 universities, including Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Hasanuddin, STPN, Institut Pertanian Bogor, and STO Lampung.
