Eight Foreign Students Participate in KKN-PPM UGM

A total of eight foreign students from five universities, namely University of Western, University of Adelaide, University of Tasmania, University of Sydney, and Murdoch University, on the second half of 2010/2011 will participate in KKN-PPM UGM. Together with 32 students from several Department in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Geography, Dentistry, Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy, Law, Cultural Science, Agriculture, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, as well as Engineering, they will be assigned in the Bangunjiwo Village, Kasihan, Bantul.

Empowering Breeders Community, UGM Sends 131 Students for Community Empowerment Program Field Practice

YOGYAKARTA (KU) – As many as 131 students participating in UGM Community Empowerment Program Field Practice (KKN PPM) will implement community empowerment activities through husbandry’s potential development program. One of the activities are empowering goat’s husbandry groups in Brajan critical areas, Kasihan, Bantul, and empowering local communities in Bunder, Gading, Playen, Gunung Kidul on raising timorensis deer.

KKN PPM UGM Revives Wonolelo Local Art

BANTUL (KU) - Students of KKN PPM UGM Unit 20 revived the local arts and culture of Wonolelo Village in Pleret, Bantul regency. The art in the form of Javanese shalawat (prayers) comes up in the new combination of the gamelan (Javanese orchestra) and dance. It was performed by Dana Swara and Emprak Seton groups on Friday (27/8) evening at the Village Hall commemorating the Nuzulul Qur'an (Indonesian tradition to mark the revelation of the Qur'an) and the celebration of the 65th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
