Graduate Students Association UGM held International Student Gathering

Graduate Students Association (HMP) UGM held International Student Gathering at Auditorium of Faculty of Animal Sciences, UGM, on Saturday (12/12). That event brought together UGM local and international students and attended by 60 students from Egypt, Sudan, Iran, USA, Vietnam, Korea and Australia, discussing a topic on 'Enhancing World Class Research University in Global Era'.

Lead Pollution Causes 29,234 Cases of IQ Decrease in Children

The increasing number of motor vehicles in Yogyakarta has also increased the lead level in the air. Lead in emmissions has bad impact and hazardous to human health, particularly for children. It can damage various body parts, especially nervous system, blood formation, renal, cardiac and reproduction systems. Therefore, the increase of lead impacts affect the increase of community health costs.

26 UGM Students Received Scholarships from PT Indocement

PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa has once again provided scholarships for Universitas Gadjah Mada students. The scholarships  amounting to Rp 37,440,000 were handed over by the leader of PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa, Alexander Frans, S.H., to UGM Director of Student Affairs, Drs. Haryanto, M.Si. The handover was conducted at the Multimedia Room, UGM Main Office, Thursday (10/12) and was witnessed by UGM Rector Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng., Ph.D., and Indocement's Corporate Human Resources Development, Bambang Sindukusumo.

Radioactivity is the ability of unstable atomic nucleus to emit radiation to make it stable. The process is called decay and the unstable nucleus is called radionuclide whilst the material containing radionuclide is called radioactive.

Workshop of Local Soy Utilization

Indonesia once experienced soy self-sufficiency in 1992. Domestic soy production at that time reached some 1.66 million tons and had already fulfilled national soy needs. After 1992, however, the cultivation area and productivity decreased because soy exchange value was still very low. With this condition, the farmers felt that it would only cost a fortune to plant soy. Soy import policy including  import tariff policy that does not support domestic soy production became one factor of the low production.
