Individual Entrepreneurial Orientation Can Increase New Business Creation

Orientasi Kewirausahaan Individu dapat Tingkatkan Penciptaan Usaha Baru

The Master of Science and Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB UGM) organized an open examination for online doctoral promotion for the doctoral candidate (promovendus), namely Muhammad Hamdi, M.B.A., on Monday (28/12).

Throughout this open examination, he presented a dissertation entitled "The Mediation Role of Individual Entrepreneurship Orientation and Attitudes Toward Knowledge Sharing on the Influence of Religiosity on New Business Creation".

"The method used is quantitative with 241 millennial and post-millennial generations in Yogyakarta as the object of research," he explained.

Hamdi also discussed the role of individual entrepreneurial orientation and attitudes towards sharing knowledge on religiosity's influence on creating new businesses.

There were three hypotheses formulated to explain the role of individual entrepreneurial orientation and attitudes towards knowledge sharing on religiosity's influence on new business creation. Those three hypotheses are firmly supported by giving evidence that individual entrepreneurial orientation and attitudes towards knowledge sharing arbitrate religiosity's influence on creating new businesses.

He revealed that this practical contribution in this research was intended for policymakers and organizational managers.

"They can expand the number of new business creations by focusing on strengthening religiosity, individual entrepreneurial orientation, and attitudes towards sharing knowledge," he explained.

He further said that this research gives further research to examine the process of creating a new business using a qualitative approach to enhance the evidence related to creating a new business.

There were also promoter and co-promoter attended this session, namely Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom., Cand. Merc., Ph.D and Bayu Sutikno, Cand. Merc., Ph.D. Some examiners and assessors consisted of Wakhid Slamet Ciptono, M.B.A., M.P.M., Ph.D, Rocky M. Adiguna, M.Sc., Ph.D, Dr. Keumala Hayati, M.Sc., Boyke R. Purnomo, M.M., Ph.D, and Risa Virgosita, M.Sc., Ph.D also attended this open examination.

Muhammad Hamdi himself is an employee of LPP Agro Nusantara, a subsidiary of Nusantara Plantation Holding. In the online forum, partners from the Plantation Education Institute (LPP), Holding Perkebunan Nusantara, also the participants who completed the joy from the doctoral candidate.

Nurul Indarti, as the promoter, gave congratulations and a message for him to be wise in science by making a positive contribution and can develop knowledge with full wisdom. Lastly, the Online Open Examination Session was closed with congratulations and well-wishings from all participants to the doctoral candidate (promovendus).
