Four UGM students have picked up first prize at the Sustainable Electric Vehicle Design Competition, part of the recently held 2022 Jakarta E-Prix. These students are representatives of Arjuna EV UGM, a student team that focuses on research and development of electric-powered vehicles at UGM.
“We didn’t expect to win because we only had one week to prepare. We are delighted and proud of this achievement. We also dedicate this to Arjuna EV UGM,” said team leader Tariq Faros Manumono (Mechanical Engineering), Sunday (5/5).
Manumono was joined by Leonard Fidelcristo Supit (Electronics and Instrumentation), Muhammad Raihan Hilmy (Mechanical Engineering), and Dasta Muhammad Ghaly (Mechanical Engineering).
Together with their supervisor Rachmadi Norcahyo, they designed a self-driving SUV car, ARCANA. This car is equipped with SAE Level 3 driving technology called Arjuna Smart Mobility (ASM) and a high level of mechanical and electrical safety to ensure comfort.
“We delivered a complete vehicle design that had been simulated with software. We calculated everything carefully and made a business plan for further reference and potential for mass production,” said Manumono.
